About Okinawa Cerrado Coffee
Located in Urasoe City, Okinawa, the coffee shop with a fresh and youthful exterior, Okinawa Cerrado Coffee, is actually a local coffee bean company that has been around for 30 years. Originally, its main business was providing coffee beans for commercial use, but now it also offers beans for corporate clients and general customers to purchase.
But why is the logo a big-mouth bird ? It's because the second-generation owner, Yuki Sueyoshi's grandfather, had invested in farms in Brazil early on, and the national bird of Brazil is the toucan. Thus, the shop was named after the Brazilian savanna ecosystem, Cerrado, and initially, it only sold Brazilian beans. Of course, now it offers a complete range of coffee beans from all varieties. As a specialist coffee bean company, Cerrado opened a café with the intention of providing customers with delicious coffee—not just in the shop but also ensuring that the beans bought for home brewing can become exceptionally tasty with just a little know-how.
